🛒 Ingredients for Simple Fruit Biscuit Bites:

  • 1-2 cans Pilsbury Biscuits: These ready-made biscuits make this recipe a breeze. Depending on how many servings you need, you can use one or two cans.
  • 1-2 cans pie filling: Choose your favorite pie fillings! You can mix and match to suit your taste. Here are some great options:
    • Blackberry
    • Raspberry
    • Strawberry
    • Blueberry
    • Cherry
  • For the Icing:
    • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar (powdered sugar): This adds sweetness and creates the perfect glaze for your bites.
    • 2 tablespoons milk: Milk helps thin the icing to a drizzle-able consistency.
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract: Vanilla enhances the flavor of the icing, adding warmth and richness.

👩‍🍳 Directions:

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  • Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). This temperature allows the biscuits to bake evenly, resulting in golden, fluffy bites.

Step 2: Prepare the Biscuits

  • Open the cans of Pilsbury biscuits and separate each biscuit. Using a sharp knife, carefully cut each biscuit in half width-wise, creating two thinner rounds from each biscuit. This step is important for making bite-sized portions that are easy to eat and perfectly sized for filling.

Step 3: Add the Pie Filling

  • Spoon a small amount of pie filling into the center of each biscuit half. Be sure not to overfill, as the filling could spill out during baking. You can get creative with the fillings—mix and match fruits to make a colorful assortment of flavors. The fruit filling adds a burst of sweetness and tartness, which pairs wonderfully with the buttery biscuit dough.

Step 4: Seal and Arrange

  • After adding the filling, fold the biscuit dough over to seal the fruit inside, forming a small, enclosed pocket. Pinch the edges together to make sure the filling stays put during baking. Arrange the filled biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking.

Step 5: Bake

  • Place the baking sheet in your preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown. Keep an eye on them as baking times can vary slightly depending on your oven. The biscuits should puff up and turn a beautiful golden color, while the filling inside becomes warm and bubbly.

Step 6: Prepare the Icing

  • While the biscuits are baking, prepare the icing. In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup of confectioners’ sugar, 2 tablespoons of milk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Whisk the ingredients together until smooth and thick. If the icing is too thin, add more confectioners’ sugar; if it’s too thick, add a bit more milk until you reach your desired consistency.

Step 7: Drizzle the Icing

  • Once the biscuit bites are baked and slightly cooled, use a spoon to drizzle the icing over the top. The sweet vanilla icing adds the perfect finishing touch, complementing the fruity filling and buttery biscuit dough.

Step 8: Serve and Enjoy

  • Serve your Simple Fruit Biscuit Bites warm for the best flavor. The gooey fruit filling, tender biscuit, and sweet vanilla glaze make each bite irresistible. These bites are perfect for breakfast, brunch, dessert, or even as a sweet snack.

Ingredients

  • 1-2 cans Pilsbury Biscuits

  • 1-2 cans pie filling (I did blackberry raspberry strawberry blueberry and then cherry)

Directions

  • Cut biscuits in half (width wise)
  • Put pie filling in middle of each biscuit
  • Put in oven at 350 degrees until golden brown
  • ICING
  • cup of confection sugar (powder sugar)
  • tablespoons of milk
  • teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • Mix all together until thick consistency (may add milk or powder sugar if need to). Drizzle over dessert with a spoon

💡 Tips for Perfect Fruit Biscuit Bites:

  1. Choose Your Fillings Wisely: You can use any flavor of pie filling you like, but some fruits pair better with the sweet vanilla glaze. Consider flavors like cherry, blueberry, or apple for a classic combination. If you prefer a more tart bite, go for raspberry or blackberry.
  2. Avoid Overfilling: Be careful not to overstuff the biscuits with pie filling. A little goes a long way, and too much can cause the biscuits to burst open while baking. A tablespoon or less of filling per biscuit half is usually enough.
  3. Seal Well: Make sure the edges of the biscuit dough are well-sealed to prevent the filling from leaking out during baking. Pinch the edges together firmly and consider using a fork to crimp them for an extra seal.
  4. Customize the Icing: If you want to experiment with flavors, you can easily customize the icing by adding different extracts. Almond extract or lemon extract can add a unique twist to the glaze.
  5. Serve Fresh: These bites are best enjoyed fresh and warm. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container and reheat them in the microwave for about 10 seconds before serving.
