Ingredients
- For the cake:
200 g Nutella (or other chocolate and hazelnut spread dough)
150 g of sugar
4 eggs
150 gm of butter, melted
200 gm of flour
1 teaspoon of the chemical yeast
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
1 pinch of salt
- For the crumble:
100 gm butter, cut into small pieces
100 g of sugar
100 g of flour
50g crushed hazelnuts (optional)
Directions
- Preparing the Cake:
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Butter and flour a 22cm diameter cake mold.
- In a large bowl, beat eggs with sugar until the mixture is foamy and clear.
- Add the Nutella and melted butter to the mixture, then mix until preparation is smooth.
- Sift the flour, chemical yeast and salt together, then gently incorporate them into the chocolate mixture. Add vanilla extract if you use it.
- Pour the batter into the prepared mold and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Preparing for the Crumble:
- In a medium bowl, mix the butter, sugar, and flour with your fingers or a pastry mixer until you achieve a sand-like granular texture. Insert crushed nuts if desired.
- Assemble and bake :
- Sprinkle the crumble evenly over cake in the mold.
- Bake for about 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean (the crumble must be golden and crispy).
- Let the cake cool in the mold for 10 minutes before melting it on a grill to cool completely.
- Serve :
- Serve warm or at room temperature, alone or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an even more gourmet dessert.
