KFC Coleslaw combines finely diced cabbage, shredded carrot, and a creamy, tangy dressing, creating a refreshing, chilled side dish perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon onion, finely grated

  • ⅓ cup sugar

  • ½ cup mayonnaise

  • ¼ cup buttermilk, well shaken

  • ¼ cup whole milk

  • 1 ½ tablespoons white vinegar

  • 2 ½ tablespoons fresh lemon juice

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper

  • 8 cups or 1-16 ounce bag coleslaw cabbage, finely diced

  • ¼ cup carrot, shredded (omit if using bagged coleslaw mix)

Directions

  • Prepare the Dressing: In a large bowl, whisk together onion, sugar, mayonnaise, buttermilk, whole milk, vinegar, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper until smooth and well combined.
  • Combine with Cabbage: Add coleslaw cabbage and shredded carrot (if using) to the bowl. Mix until the cabbage is evenly coated with the creamy dressing.
  • Chill and Serve: Cover the bowl and refrigerate for a minimum of 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld. Stir well before serving chilled as a delicious side dish.
