Whipped Caramel Dip

This indulgent dip begins with a homemade caramel, crafted by heating sugar and water until it reaches a rich amber hue. Butter and heavy cream are then added, creating a velvety smooth texture that’s both buttery and sweet. The real magic happens when the cooled caramel is whipped into softened cream cheese, resulting in a light and airy dip with a perfect balance of sweetness and a subtle hint of salt. The creamy texture is versatile enough to be paired with a variety of dippables—apple slices, cookies, or even pretzels for a sweet-salty twist! This dip can also double as a rich frosting for cakes and cupcakes, adding an extra layer of indulgence to your favorite baked goods. With its quick prep time and irresistible flavor, this Whipped Caramel Dip will quickly become a go-to for any special occasion or spontaneous treat!

This Whipped Caramel Dip is a luscious, creamy treat perfect for any dessert table! 🍬✨ Whether served with fresh fruit or as a cake frosting, it's sure to be a hit at your next gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

Directions

  • Make the Caramel:
  • In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, swirling the pan occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture turns a deep amber color. Be careful not to stir, as this can cause crystallization.
  • Once the caramel reaches the desired color, carefully add the butter and stir until fully melted. Then, slowly pour in the heavy cream while continuously stirring. The mixture will bubble up, so be cautious. ️
  • Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt. Allow the caramel to cool to room temperature.
  • Whip the Caramel:
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
  • Gradually add the cooled caramel to the cream cheese, whipping until the mixture is light, fluffy, and fully combined.
  • Serve:
  • Transfer the whipped caramel dip to a serving bowl. Serve with fresh fruit, cookies, or use it as a frosting for cakes and cupcakes!
